3 Reasons to Explore Little Pee Dee State Park

1. Fantastic Hiking and Walking Trails

Little Pee Dee State Park is one of the best places to get outside and explore the beautiful woods of Eastern South Carolina for travelers driving along the Atlantic Coast. This 835-acre park offers several trails that wind and weave through the beautiful backcountry landscapes ringing Lake Norton. The largest of the trails in the preserve is 1.3-mile Beaver Pond Nature Trail. You’ll find that this is an incredible spot to get out, stretch your legs, and see some of the Palmetto State’s long list of bird species.

2. Fishing Along Lake Norton

If you love to fish, then bring your rod and reel with you to cast out a line into the waters of Lake Norton. This 54-acre lake on the eastern edge of Little Pee Dee State Park is teaming with bass, bream, and catfish. A dock and plenty of free shorelines are ideal for casting in your line and catching some fish! The views across the lake are fantastic, so don’t forget to bring your camera to photograph this beautiful nature preserve.

3. An Incredible Place to Be One With Nature

Even if you’re not a fan of hiking or fishing, Little Pee Dee State Park is one of our favorite places to get outside and experience the great outdoors. See firsthand the true beauty of our great state’s coastal ecosystems. Wetlands, forests, and sandy soil of this unique region are all on display in Little Pee Dee State Park. While we love our Inn and the charming town of Latta, this is an excellent place to explore for something different during your stay!
