Why Visit the Florence Little Theatre?

The Florence Little Theatre offers a fantastic way to experience the local performing arts scene in our area. This newly renovated venue features an award-winning community theater group and an array of technology that enhances every production that takes the stage. Plays aren’t the only thing you’ll find here. Comedy nights, children’s theatre performances, and concerts frequent the theatre at various times throughout the year. The intimate atmosphere, combined with an incredible array of performances makes the Little Florence Theatre a must-visit during your time in the Pee Dee region. 

Where is the Venue?

You can find the Little Florence Theatre three blocks south of downtown on South Dargan Street. The venue is next to the Doctors Bruce & Lee Foundation Library. There is plenty of parking, and you don’t have to worry about paying extra for it. The drive from Abingdon Manor to the theatre is only 30 minutes, so it’s perfect for a night out with your special. 

When is Play Season?

Play season at the Florence Little Theatre lasts from late July through early May. Typically, there are about five or six plays that run for nearly a week each throughout the season. Past performances include “To Kill A Mockingbird,” Mamma Mia,” “Mary Poppins,” and The Wizard of Oz.” The 2019 season includes performances of “Frozen Jr.,” “Matilda,” “Blithe Spirit,” “Dreamgirls,” “Don’t Dress For Dinner,” and “West Side Story.” The cast always does a fantastic job of transporting you to the world within the play. Trust us; a trip to the Florence Little Theatre is well worth your time during a visit to Abingdon Manor.
